Ripple and Robinhood Deepen Ties to Broaden RLUSD Market Reach
Ripple is expanding its stablecoin distribution through Robinhood while also growing custody and trade finance partnerships across institutional channels.
Ripple is accelerating the commercial rollout of its dollar-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD, through a deepened partnership with Robinhood that targets both everyday retail investors and institutional market participants. The move signals Ripple's intent to position RLUSD not merely as a crypto-native instrument but as a broadly accessible digital dollar with mainstream distribution infrastructure behind it.
Beyond the Robinhood collaboration, Ripple has extended its relationship with BNY — one of the world's largest custodial banks — to cover digital asset custody services. Trade finance is a sector long criticized for its reliance on slow, paper-heavy processes, and moving settlement onto a public ledger could reduce counterparty risk and compress settlement times — though real-world adoption at scale remains the harder test.
Taken together, the three announcements reflect a coherent strategy: Ripple is constructing a multi-channel distribution and settlement ecosystem around RLUSD, threading it through retail brokerage, institutional custody, and corporate treasury workflows simultaneously. In a stablecoin market dominated by Tether and Circle's USDC, that layered approach may be the most realistic path toward meaningful market share.
